Ephesus

The 1st Church of Revelation. Walk ancient streets, visit the Library of Celsus, the Basilica of St. John, and the site of the Temple of Artemis — one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World.
DAY 4

Isle of Patmos

A sacred UNESCO World Heritage island. Visit the Grotto of the Apocalypse — where Jesus appeared to John — and the Monastery of St. John the Evangelist overlooking the Aegean.
DAY 5

Crete — Palace of Knossos

Explore the oldest civilization in Europe at the Minoan Palace of Knossos — a 3,500-year-old labyrinthine complex that inspired the legend of the Minotaur.

Santorini

Perhaps the most breathtaking Greek island, with stunning caldera views, blue-domed chapels, and the legendary Aegean sunset from Oia.

Athens & the Acropolis

Ascend the Acropolis — where Paul preached on Mars Hill (Acts 17) — and explore the ancient Agora, the Parthenon, and the charming Plaka neighborhood.

Mykonos

Iconic windmills, whitewashed alleys, and world-famous hospitality on one of the Cyclades' most celebrated islands.

Pamukkale & Hierapolis

Soak in the sacred "Cotton Castle" thermal pools and explore Hierapolis — where the Apostle Philip lived, ministered, and was martyred.

Laodicea

The 7th Church of Revelation — the "lukewarm" church (Rev. 3:14–22). A once-prosperous Roman city whose remarkably preserved stadium, temples, and colonnaded street have re-emerged from the earth.
DAY 8

Philadelphia (Alaşehir)

The 6th Church of Revelation — the church of the open door (Rev. 3:7–13). Christ's promise: "I have placed before you an open door that no one can shut." A place of extraordinary faithfulness.
DAY 8

Sardis

The 5th Church of Revelation — "you have a reputation of being alive, but you are dead" (Rev. 3:1–6). Visit the grand Temple of Artemis and the Byzantine church built into its ancient ruins.
DAY 8–9

Smyrna (Izmir)

The 2nd Church of Revelation — promised a crown of life for those who endure (Rev. 2:8–11). Today a vibrant port city with a beautiful waterfront and deep early-Christian heritage.
DAY 9

Pergamum (Bergama)

The 3rd Church of Revelation — where "Satan's throne" stood (Rev. 2:12–17). Climb one of antiquity's most dramatic hilltop citadels, with a breathtaking theater carved into the cliffside.
DAY 9

Thyatira (Akhisar)

The 4th Church of Revelation (Rev. 2:18–29) — and the hometown of Lydia, the first European convert to Christianity (Acts 16:14). A deeply significant stop on every Pauline journey.

Today we embark on our journey to the lands of ancient treasures and Christian history with an overnight flight to Turkey. Prepare yourself for a life-changing experience. Get some rest on the flight; tomorrow you will be walking where the apostles walked!

Arrive Kuşadası

Arrive Istanbul and connect with your flight to Izmir. Upon arrival in Izmir, meet our representatives and transfer to our hotel in Kuşadası. Overnight at the Hotel.
Day 3 Saturday, April 17, 2027

Kuşadası · Ephesus · Kuşadası

We travel to the nearby town of Selcuk for a visit of ancient Ephesus. Ephesus was once a thriving port town of 250,000 people. Today you can still see the spectacular excavations of the major streets in this ancient city. We view the Library of Celsus, Agora, theatre, colorful mosaics in the aristocratic Terrace Houses, and a panoramic outlook of the surrounding ancient port area — including a wealth of church history and cultural insight. Then we continue with a visit to the Basilica Church of St. John, which houses an immersion baptismal and is believed to be the resting place of John. From here we have an excellent overview of the Ephesus harbor, the Mosque of Jesus, and see the site of the Temple of Artemis — one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World.
Day 4 Sunday, April 18, 2027

Kuşadası · Embark Celestyal Cruises · Patmos

This morning we embark our cruise ship and sail for a visit to the beautiful Isle of Patmos. The lovely island of Patmos is a UNESCO World Heritage Monument. Our panoramic excursion begins in the port of Skala, heading to the centre of the island and the capital of Chora. Here we see the Monastery of St. John the Evangelist and visit the Grotto of the Apocalypse — where, according to the biblical account, Jesus spoke to John and told him of the Apocalypse. In the central area of Chora we find the silent windmills which stand sentry-like over the capital. We end our exploration back at Skala. Coffee and other refreshments await at the atmospheric Cafe Arion.

Day 5 Monday, April 19, 2027

The ancient city of Knossos, near Crete's capital Heraklion, was the place that gave birth to the very first civilisation of Europe — the Minoans. We explore the large Central Court, the wonderful Throne Room, the imposing Grand Staircase, and see the fresco of the "Prince of the Lilies." This afternoon we visit the island of Santorini, perhaps the most breathtaking of all the Greek Islands. You may choose to take an optional Santorini Cable Car, which offers a unique transportation experience unparalleled in the Aegean.

Day 6 Tuesday, April 20, 2027

A walk through the very heart of Athens brings us to the famous Acropolis with the Parthenon at its summit — a reminder of Ancient Greece's powerful civilisation and the greatest architectural complex bequeathed by Greek Antiquity. At the foot of the Acropolis lies the oldest neighbourhood of Athens, Plaka, with its beautiful houses and cobblestone streets. We pass the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and see the "Trilogy of Athens" — the University of Athens, National Library, and Academy of Athens. Return to the cruise and continue sailing to Mykonos, which uniquely combines luxury and sophistication with the simple charm of a Cycladic island. Explore the labyrinthine, whitewashed alleys of Chora, the iconic Kato Mili windmills, and grab a waterfront seat at Little Venice for a world-famous sunset cocktail.

Day 7 Wednesday, April 21, 2027

Mykonos · Disembark at Kuşadası · Hierapolis & Laodicea · Pamukkale

Breakfast · Dinner

Disembark from the Celestyal Cruise at the Kuşadası Port and drive to Hierapolis, meaning "Sacred City" — an ancient center for pagan cults until it was transformed into a Christian center in the first century. According to tradition, the Apostle Philip lived and was martyred in Hierapolis. We also visit Laodicea, the "lukewarm" church (Rev. 3:14–22). Laodicea contains many acres of ruins to visit, including a stadium and remnants of a sophisticated water system. Nearby Colossae — well-known as the receiver of Paul's letter to the Colossians (Col. 4:13) — lies in the same valley. Our lodging this evening is in a lovely spa hotel in Pamukkale.
Day 8 Thursday, April 22, 2027

Pamukkale · Philadelphia · Sardis · Izmir (Smyrna)

Breakfast · Dinner

Today we visit Philadelphia, from where we are challenged to "hold fast" and look forward to the coming of the "new Jerusalem" (Rev. 3:7–13). Not much is left of the city except for the ancient wall and the remains of a Byzantine Basilica in the modern city of Alasehir. Then we travel to Sardis, which was berated by John for its facade of strength when it was weak (Rev. 3:1–6). Here coins were minted and the dyeing of wool originated. We'll visit the gymnasium and synagogue. We continue south to Izmir — the third largest city in Turkey and a long-time center for Jews and Christians. In Paul's day, Izmir was known as Smyrna and was another of the Seven Churches (Rev. 2:8–11). In Izmir, see Polycarp's Church and visit the ancient Roman agora.
Day 9 Friday, April 23, 2027

Izmir · Pergamum · Thyatira · Izmir

Breakfast · Dinner

Our first visit of the day is Pergamum (Rev. 2:12–17). The church of Pergamum was praised for its forbearance — it was here that the first Christians were executed by Rome. We'll visit the fabled Acropolis, pass through the Royal Gates, view the foundations of the Altar of Zeus, and visit the ruins of the great library (which once held 200,000 volumes). Next, we travel east to Thyatira, viewing the ancient roadway and period columns. Thyatira was once a busy trading center and famous as a "seller of purple" — the most favored of the Seven Churches (Rev. 2:18–29).
Day 10 Saturday, April 24, 2027
